These cars were derivatives of the standard post war AAR 50' boxcar design, but instead of the AAR-spec 8' door, they utilized a 9' door opening. These cars were built with either tabbed, straight or fishbelly side sills, but all featured late improved dreadnaught ends and diagonal panel roofs. Over 2500 copies of this car were built between 1956 and 1960.
